Messalonskee Middle School was awarded a Lowe’s Toolbox for Education Grant for their Lettuce Us Grow a Healthy Harvest Project. Their project was to enhance their Garden program at the school under the guidance of teacher Amanda Ripa. One goal was to build a garden shed that would hold all the materials and supplies for the garden, hoophouse and greenhouse. A new shed was installed on August 31st. The Lowe’s Augusta representatives presented a check to Mark Hatch principal at MMS and to Amanda Ripa and her class.
