Exploring Culture Through Music

Students in Mrs. Paradis’ first and second grade music classes learned a little bit about Chinese New Year, which runs from February 12 – 26 this year.  They listened to some traditional Chinese music while they made paper fans using red construction paper, which is considered a lucky color.  They then followed along and performed a fan dance, including movements called leaf, tree, butterfly, L, and flower.
