This past weekend, Odyssey of the Mind teams from Freeport to Rangeley met in Brunswick to compete for a place at the state tournament. Odyssey of the Mind is a creative problem solving program designed to provide students with “a comprehensive and holistic educational experience” where they can take risks and discover their abilities.
Williams Elementary sent two teams of fourth and fifth graders to the regional tournament at Brunswick High School on Saturday, March 12th. Aesop’s Gone Viral, coached by Julia Hanauer-Milne, Andrew Mitchell, and Alethea Schanz, finished second and is heading to the State tournament in Biddeford on April 2nd. Furs, Fins, Feathers and Friends, coached by Julia Hanauer-Milne, finished fourth.
“I’m very proud of the hard work, creativity, and perseverance both teams showed in the months leading up to the tournament,” said Julia Hanauer-Milne.
