MHS Big Brothers Take First Place

Messalonksee High School was well represented at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Maine Golf Fore Kids Sake Sept. 2nd at Belgrade Lakes Golf Course. Very generous sponsors welcomed two teams of Messo Bigs to participate– the first students to golf beside 100 businessmen and businesswomen in the 17th Annual event, which raised over $33,000 for local youth mentoring programs like ours at MHS.
The eight Messalonskee Big Brothers helped kick off the event by addressing the golfers before the start, and throughout the day they shared their stories of being proud mentors, helping local kids in honor of Cassidy. These young men were all very mature, compassionate, polite and engaging. Another proud moment for Messalonskee High School!
And to top off a perfect day, one of the Messo Teams took FIRST PLACE NET! Congrats to Cole Smith, Jake Bernatchez, Conor Ferguson and Colby Charette! Joining them at the tournament was Messo Team #2: Yan Gusmanov, Chris Viens, Blake Marden and James Koutletsis.
