Our own Jennifer McGee is not only the MPA Principal of the Year, she’s also an accomplished author! This surely comes as no surprise to anyone who has read her thoughtful and beautifully crafted Principal’s Pen newsletter.
Her book Nine Minutes and Counting is the story of twelve-year-old Lizzie’s struggle with tragic loss, grief, and guilt. The book focuses on her journey “from darkness into light” and the teacher who helps her find her way.
“ I was engaged in this book from the first page,” said MHS librarian Sylvia Jadczak. “It is a worthwhile book to recommend to students to help them deal not only with grief but with guilt as well. For educators, it is a reminder of how one teacher can have a huge impact on a student’s life.”
The book can be found on Amazon.com where it has multiple 5-star reviews. Congratulations Mrs. McGee. You make us proud on many levels.
