The halls of MMS hung with twinkling lights and snowflakes this morning as the staff and students prepared to welcome all of the district’s kindergarteners to the 23rd annual Winter Wonderland.
Each kindergarten student was paired with a middle school “buddy” to be their guide throughout the day’s activities. The whole first floor of the school was transformed into a winter wonderland with games, crafts, stories, music, and much more. There was even a special visit from Santa!
This magical day not only provides a fun time for our kindergarteners, it provides a terrific mentoring experience for our MMS students.
This event was started by Mr. Paul Begley 23 years ago when his daughter was a kindergarten student. This is Mr. Begley’s last year at MMS before he retires, so it seems fitting that the Winter Wonderland experience came full circle today with his daughter and grandson attending the event.
Thank you, Mr. Begley, for starting this wonderful tradition, and for your tireless efforts in turning MMS into a winter wonderland year after year.
