Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant

At a time when schools are struggling to support the basic needs of their students, the Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation recognizes the importance of financial support.

This year LCEF is seeking ways to provide the tools to help educators and parent groups through educational challenges by providing the greatest impact. Over the last few years, RSU 18 schools have been awarded 7 Lowe’s Toolbox for Education Grants in the amount of $5,000 or less each. The grant has supported Learning Centers on the Messalonskee School Trails, improved Learning stations and trails at the China School Forest, a Foundry at Messalonskee High School, Fencing with a gate, a garden shed and a reading library at Atwood Primary School, Garden shed and garden supplies at Messalonskee Middle School and a Reading Garden at Belgrade Central School.

Our newest award winner is China Middle School.  They will be putting in a Reading Garden in the alcove at the front of the school building.  We are extremely grateful to the Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation, National PTO, Lowe’s Augusta Manager Rodney Wohlford and Pro-Service Manager James Purdy for their continued support.
