As you may have heard in the news, earlier this week we sadly learned that one of our fourth-grade students, Parker Stevens, passed away. We do not have all the specific details at this time, but the news is reporting that it was from a tragic gunshot wound.
The death of any student is difficult to understand. Parker’s death is particularly difficult due to his young age and its unexpectedness. If there is anything we can do to help you through this difficult time, please reach out. We suggest allowing your child to talk about how he/she feels and any fears or concerns he/she may have as a result of hearing this news. If you feel that your child would benefit from talking with a School Counselor or a District Social Worker, please call us at the school and share your concerns. The faculty, staff, and students extend our heartfelt sympathies to the Stevens family and to all their friends. Keep this family and our entire community in your prayers.
