On the morning of February 8th, the classrooms at James H. Bean were much more crowded than usual. One hundred and seventy-four parents and/or family members joined their children for an hour full of math activities and games.
We were pleasantly surprised with the turnout as 54% of our students were joined by a parent with the goal of strengthening their mathematical skills through the power of family interaction.
Teachers designed and prepped activities for the students to play and/or complete with their family members. Parents and/or family members were provided with game directions and materials to encourage follow through at home.
