Team Highlands students worked on the Pleasant Point Park to help protect our watershed.
The Oakland Town Manager, Gary Bowman wrote: “… I’d also would like to thank all of you for your hard work with your collaborative goal of maintaining the water quality of the McGrath Pond/Salmon Lake watershed. This project not only contributes to lessening phosphates from entering our lakes but also benefits the beauty of Pleasant Point Park.” He went on to say, “Involving our Schools, public employees, neighbors and watershed organizations not only proves that we can come together to make a difference but offered an educational opportunity about environmental importance to our younger residents. Thank you for your commitment to our local water quality and the Town of Oakland.”
This project is just another way that MMS students are working with our communities to take action.
