On December 11, Chelsey Oliver’s eighth grade Advisory students headed out to Belgrade Central for their December ShineOn Class Service Project. Waiting with welcome signs for their buddies were Shawna Lachance’s fourth graders. By chance, Chelsey and Shawna’s childhood bus driver, Ron Sirois, made this connection possible!
BCS students started the morning by reading a book of their choice to their buddy. Then, pairs got crafty together to create popsicle stick trucks, Christmas trees, and reindeer ornaments. Many pairs ended up trading ornaments with each other! The morning ended with hot chocolate and a little fresh air.
Chelsey and Shawna are dedicated to making sure all of their students experience the kindness that Cassidy Charette left us to share each day. The connections made on this morning were incredible, and students are hoping for a chance to see each other again before the end of the school year!
