Chorus Community Field Trip to Woodlands

On Monday, December 16, the Williams Elementary School Grade 5 chorus visited the Lakewood Nursing Home. What a treat.  The residents enjoyed listening to the beautiful music that the students shared from their recent concert and also enjoyed singing along with some traditional carols.  When they were finished singing, the students handed out cards that were made by ATW and WES students through the PTA “Hearts for the Holidays” project. The students interacted with the residents wishing them a Happy Holiday and some even giving hugs. The residents commented on how much it meant to them to have the students visit and bring them such a special gift of music. One student remarked that the resident that she gave a card to even cried tears of joy because it was so meaningful for her.  What a wonderful connection to our community.
