Lisa Riportella from Cruisin’ Country 93.5 visited Williams this week to record students saying, “We’ve got your back!” The recording will be included in a segment explaining 93.5’s new initiative to support local backpack programs.
The station heard how schools that use a backpack program to supply students in need with nonperishable food items and hygiene supplies, often run extremely low after holiday drives are over.
Cruisin’ Country is pairing up with The McCoy & Company Morning Show, KSW Federal Credit Union, Doug’s Garage, and Delta Ambulance to help collect needed items.
The initiative is called “I’ve got your back!” and challenges schools and their surrounding communities to collect specific items. Williams Elementary is collecting the following items from 93.5 collection list:
3rd Grade: Boxed Macaroni & Cheese
4th Grade: Canned Soups
5th Grade: Granola Bars
The challenge will be given on-air as well, and they will have collection sites at various area businesses and churches. Tune in to Cruisin’ Country for more details and to hear our WES students lending their voices to this fantastic initiative.
Williams Elementary would like to thank our community for all of the donations we have received so far this year to get our food pantry up and running. Your support is greatly appreciated.
