Great Kindness Challenge at MMS

All this week, students and staff at Messalonskee Middle School have been taking part in The Great Kindness Challenge, a kindness themed spirit week with activities based around being positive and encouraging to one another. The week-long challenge is designed to improve school climate and increase student engagement by encouraging acts of kindness around campus.

Yesterday’s theme was Kindness Rocks.  School counselor Kris Croteau set up a table where students could choose a rock to decorate with a design of their choice and a motivational word or phrase. Once the rocks are dry, they will be sealed to make the paint weatherproof.  After the snow melts this spring, MMS students will distribute them around the community in the hopes of sharing a little beauty and positive inspiration.

Here are just a few of the designs that students came up with yesterday.
