Activities and Educational Distractions for the week of May 4th

I don’t know why, but I feel better knowing it’s May. Hopefully, the weather can start acting more like spring as well. Here are a few ideas to try out this week.

Join us for the RSU 18 Art Challenge this month. Share your art on social media using the hashtags #WeAreRSU18 and #RSU18ArtChallenge and follow us on Instagram or Twitter @art.messalonskee.

Check out Belgrade Central’s Radical Reading Challenge and join in!

Send a note to your favorite teacher, past or present, for teacher appreciation week.

Have you tried journaling lately? It can be a great way to reduce stress, clarify thoughts and feelings, and give you insight into how you and your child are dealing with our current situation. First things First offers this great list of journaling prompts for kids that are useful for adults too.

If you’re taking this opportunity to start your first home garden this spring or simply want to improve your gardening game, the Maine Cooperative Extension has a lot of great tips here.

Do you have a great resource you’ve found helpful? Please share it with us in the comments.

Have a great week,

Mandi Favreau, Communication Coordinator
