Singin’ in the Rain

Messalonskee Middle School Chorus students took to the field with their umbrellas last week to celebrate the power of music in their latest project. Students were introduced to the 1950s musical, “Singing in the Rain” and particularly focused on Gene Kelly’s masterful performance of the title song.

Per CDC guidelines, any singing must take place outdoors, with mask, at 14 feet apart.  The message of the song and the project seems particularly appropriate.  “We focused on how the performing arts can help us through the adversities of life,” said Chorus teacher Kevin Rhein, “even a rainy day!”
