Baby Black Bear Book Award

The Black Bear Book Award 2021 will be a little different this year, because…pandemic.

But, never fear! Your Librarians, ever flexible and attuned to your needs, have tweaked our program to better serve the needs of remote and in-person students during this, ahem, unique time.

Introducing the first, and hopefully the last, annual Baby Black Bear Book Award. Instead of students in grades 3-5 choosing to read on their own from a large collection of new books, your fantastic Librarians have chosen 12 titles that will be read during Library time.

Books will be paired with supporting materials to provide more depth, understanding and interest. There will be no school wide reading goal and competition, but students will vote on their favorite title and celebrating will ensue.

Exposure to new and diverse stories as well as engendering a love of reading is still the goal.We are so excited to share these books with you!

Your friendly RSU 18 Librarians
