MMS Advisory Goes the Distance

Mrs. Mahoney’s advisory class “walked” from Kittery to Fort Kent (365 miles!). This spring, KV Connect sponsored the “Miles Across Maine” challenge to benefit the Kennebec & Messalonskee Trail System. As an advisory, we discussed how lucky we are to have these trails in our backyards and the amount of effort and money it takes to maintain them. Students logged the amount of time they ran, walked, biked, and hiked in the month of April. Students created a bulletin board in our classroom to track their progress each day. They were so excited and proud of themselves to come together, be outside, and help their community.  As an advisory, we donated $60 to the project and logged over 400 miles! We logged the most miles of any community group!
