Meet Dillon Clark, assistant principal of Messalonskee Middle School!
What jobs have you had before becoming an administrator? I was a 4th grade teacher, a middle school social studies teacher, and an athletic director.
What are you most excited about for this upcoming year? I am most excited about meeting new students and welcoming back our 7th and 8th graders!
What do you like to do in your spare time? First and foremost, I spend time with my two children and my wife – going on adventures all over! I play basketball and guitar as my personal hobbies.
What’s your favorite meal? I love sushi!!
What’s been your best school memory – either as a student or administrator? I love all my time as an administrator. I love the memories of working with students through challenges they face and working with teachers on how we can best meet the needs of our students.
What would your students be surprised to find out about you? I once got lost in a jungle… only for about an hour, and my wife and I found our way out! But it was a fantastic adventure!
If you could live anywhere, where would it be? If I could live anywhere, I would live in Los Angeles. I love that city!
What’s your favorite thing to study? I love sports, history, and science – but my favorite subject has always been PE!
Tell us about your family! My wife and I have been together for 12 years and have two wonderful children. My son is in Pre-K and my daughter is in kindergarten. My parents were both educators and that led me to where I am today. My brother is a rocket scientist out in LA and my sister is a librarian on the Maine coast!
What is your coffee order? Large coffee with cream and sugar…. boring, I know! 🙂
What has been your greatest accomplishment? Thus far, my greatest accomplishment has been raising two children who are kind, inclusive, and empathetic towards others. There is nothing in this world that should ever outweigh our job as parents. My wife and I pride ourselves on the children we are sending into the world! They will care for everyone, and know that everyone is worthy of love and kindness!
