China Primary School’s second graders and families from Ms. Kimmie’s class enjoyed an engaging STEM challenge at Open House recently. The challenge was two-fold. Families and students were asked to first build the tallest structure they could using only toothpicks and marshmallows. Then they were challenged to measure their tall towers together.
Ms. Kimmie shared that this team building activity was given to help demonstrate the importance of everyone working together, sharing ideas, and listening to each other. She hopes to build a strong learning team with families and students that bridges the learning being done in the classroom to learning being done at home.
