Pumpkins are used for so many purposes each fall – from jack o’lanterns in October to pumpkin pie in November. But second grade teachers at Atwood Primary School had another great idea to creatively bring pumpkins into the classroom to enhance their literacy instruction!
Atwood second graders recently had some seasonal fun while decorating pumpkins to mimic their favorite book characters! The children chose a beloved character, created a plan, and then decorated pumpkins with paint and construction paper! Some of the characters chosen were Pigeon, Clifford, Gerald, Stellaluna, and Owl Diaries. Thank you to the families, Longfellows, and Hannaford for their generous pumpkin donations! #WeAreRSU18 #AtwoodAwesome
