To go along with the first graders’ five senses unit, James H. Bean students took a trip to the Apple Farm in Fairfield. Once at the Apple Farm, students took a wagon ride into the orchard and were able to pick a peck of apples. Students were also able to try a sample of apple cider and use their five senses to describe how it tasted. These young learners explored the different types of apples, what the inside of an apple looks like, and how apple cider is made. In the apple cider mill, students were able to see how apples are pressed flat until the juice is taken out and then turned into cider! #WeAreRSU18 #JHBdragons
