China Primary School students in Mrs. Babson’s third grade class have been studying folktales, how they have been told in many places throughout the world, and how they are similar and dissimilar to one another in their style, story elements, and lesson. The class used this as a jumping off point and are looking at the guiding question “How can we make stories come alive for kids in our community?” Students have chosen folktales to retell, and are writing a script for a reader’s theater production of their unique folktale.
