Cassidy Jean Charette, an aspiring and inspiring student at Messalonskee
High School, lost her life tragically on Oct. 11, 2014 at the promising age
of 17. She left her mark on students, teachers and families throughout
our community. While she was ranked first in her Class of 2016 and was a
stand-out athlete, it was her character and the way she lived her life that
left the greatest impression. Cass devoted much of her young life to
service—at soup kitchens, food pantries, and homeless shelters, animal
shelters, in school and in her church—wherever she could help others.
Cassidy carried a light in her heart and chose to SHINE on everyone in her
path. She taught us that the essence of life, however long, is how we
treat each other. Shine On Cass!
