Students in James H. Bean’s first grade classrooms dove into a week-long unit about maple syrup in spirit of Maine Maple Sunday. To start off their explorations, students took a field trip to the Bacon Maple Farm in Sidney. Students were able to ask questions about the process, see what sap looks like in the tank before it is boiled, see the inside of the sugarhouse, and sample some fresh, warm maple syrup! It was a great learning experience for students to see how local maple syrup is made in our town! #WeAreRSU18 #JHBdragons
