Belgrade Central School recently welcomed Maine author, Lynn Plourde, to their school! Ms. Plourde is the author of over forty children’s books including Wild Child, Pajama Day, and Wake Up, Baby Bear. During her time at BCS, she visited with third, fourth, and fifth graders.
She spoke about her book Maxi’s Secret – addressing the theme of the book: there’s more to everyone than what is shown on the surface. She discussed the story behind the book, her research, and the writing process. Ms. Plourde also shared information about deafness and blindness that she learned through her lengthy research. The importance of sign language and standing up for yourself were topics students particularly enjoyed. The visit was sponsored by the Don C. Stevens Fund. #WeAreRSU18
