Community Connection- Modern Woodmen of America

In RSU 18, we are lucky to have many partnerships within our community that support our schools, our teams and clubs, our staff and our students.  One such community partner that has helped so many groups and students within our district is Modern Woodmen of America.

Patrick and Stacey Linehan and their local Modern Woodmen chapter members are the silent partners for many fundraisers that go on around the district.  They provide matching funds, promote events, and lead the charge on fundraising when they identify a need. They have partnered with our schools to raise funds for food pantries, matched funds raised by Messalonskee Chorus to purchase workbooks, and taken the time to recognize some of the Hometown Heroes in our community.

This fall alone Modern Woodmen is planning to match funds for the Atwood-Williams PTA Craft Fair and the Messalonskee All Sports Boosters Cash Calendar Fundraiser. Stacey Linehan is also leading the charge on a major service project called Healthy Students, Healthy Schools which includes several schools in RSU 18 and around the state. The goal of the project is to help students stay warm and slow the spread of germs this winter by purchasing and donating hats, mittens, tissues, hand sanitizer and other supplies through the support of Modern Woodmen of America and their member customers from around the area.

This dynamic duo and the company they represent are a shining example of the kind of community backing that we are so lucky to have in RSU 18.
