Lunchtime at JHB can be a lively and, at times, loud time of day as students busily chat and laugh at each other’s antics. In an effort to provide a quieter, calmer atmosphere, every Friday, students have the opportunity to eat their lunches in the library during our weekly “Lunch and Listen.” During this time, students eat while listening to a book read by Mrs. St. Peter. So far, students clamber at the opportunity to attend “Lunch and Listen.” Fourth grader, Ajah Cole, enjoys “Lunch and Listen” as she feels that “it is peaceful and it calms me down.” Fifth grader, Matthew Reardon, states “I enjoy listening to a story when eating my lunch.” Two of the most recent titles have been, The Jelly Donut Difference and What Makes A Hero.
