Students in Miss Whitlock’s third grade at CPS have been learning about the states of matter. They started their learning with a Mystery Science lesson that involved a candy melt.
Students needed to figure out what candy would be good to send to their friend at camp without it melting. They discussed whether certain candies had properties that would make them a good contender to send or if this candy was too meltable. They also discussed why so many toys are made of plastic now and how plastic has the property of being meltable as well.
