Activities and Educational Distractions for the Week of May 25th.

Happy Memorial Day!

Have you been delving into genealogy at all during quarantine?  The Maine State Library is offering a Memorial Day special program: military records overview for genealogy. Learn how to find out if one of your ancestors served in the military for US or Canada tonight at 8:00pm in this online program.

The Nature Conservancy in Maine is having two Zoom events on Tuesday, May 27th.  A presentation entitled “The Journey Home: Migratory Fish Species Return to Maine” Rivers (registration is required) at 2pm and a virtual screening and discussion of the film Love Flows about sustaining Maine’s rivers and fish populations.

There have been some great updates to this fantastic list of resources from Prodigy.

Don’t forget a few special events going on in RSU 18.  If you haven’t done so yet, check out China Schools Virtual Forest Day. It offers some great resources to get the family out into the lovely spring weather we’ve been having. If your child is Prek through 2nd grade, voting for the Honeybee Book Award ends on Wednesday, May 27th. Check out the books and vote here.  You also have a few more days to get in on the RSU 18 Art Challenge.

Have a great week!
