Celebrating our Retirees: MHS

Last but not certainly not least, we celebrate three amazing educators retiring from Messalonskee High School with nearly 80 years of in-district teaching between them.

Written by MHS Principal Paula Callan

JoAnn Lemire is known for her sarcastic wit. Rarely has she missed a day of school in her 22 years of service to the district, and I believe this is because she truly cares about kids and she enjoys seeing them (she probably won’t say that is the reason). JoAnn has been a good friend and mentor to many of the staff here at MHS and we’ll be giving her a call to come in and sub!

Christine Boisvert is truly one of a kind. She started with the district in 1984 and has been with us for 36 years. Her classes were always exciting and entertaining. She loves the culture and the language of the french people. I believe she could become an honorary border patrol officer as she makes several treks to Quebec.

Mark Bachinski has a gruff facade but truly cares about his students. He started in 2000 and has 20 years of service to the district.  He has a realistic approach to teaching and is successful in getting his students to understand the concept of math and how it applies to their everyday lives.

All three of these wonderful teachers will be deeply missed.

To all of our 2020 retirees, we wish we could have given you our traditional send-off. We will miss you all, and we wish you the best of luck in the future and a wonderful and relaxing retirement.
