Some fun activities for the week of July 5th

I hope everyone had a terrific weekend. Here are a few events and activities to try out this week.

 

Online author’s visit from Chris Van Dussen, Wednesday, July 8th at 8am.

Rockland Public Library’s 2nd week of Summer Reading Program will feature special guest, author & illustrator, Chris Van Dusen.

Chris Van Dusen will be reading a book or two of his and then talking to the group about how he writes and illustrates his books. Listen, learn, and chat with the author live.

You may know Chris Van Dusen from his books The Circus Ship, If I Built a Car, and Down to the Sea with Mr. Magee, but did you know he also illustrated the Mercy Watson series?

 

Fantastic Fireflies Online Event,  Friday, July 10th. (preregistration required)

Join Greenwich Audubon Center for a virtual nighttime adventure to discover one of summer’s most special insects! Fireflies are nature’s own fireworks and their dazzling displays captivate the excitement of people of all ages. Our journey will start with an indoor introduction about the amazing lives of fireflies and how we can help protect them, followed by a virtual walk through our meadow to catch a glimpse of their mesmerizing bioluminescence.

Last week’s rainy weather had us revisiting some of our favorite podcasts including, Wow in the World, Brains On, and Circle Round.  Give them a try!
