Under the Sea at JHB

The fourth and fifth-grade hallway at JHB received a facelift this summer. Students now have access to an ocean-themed sensory path! A sensory path is a colorful, creative, and playful way for kids to build sensory pathways, connections in the brain that are responsible for sight, touch, sound, etc., which enables kids to complete complex, multi-stage tasks. As a motor break option, not only does the path help the students release any pent-up energy but at the same time gives them some counting and alphabet practice. High-intensity activities included on the sensory path, like hopping, jumping, squatting, and reaching high and low,  get the blood pumping which helps children to sit still and focus for longer periods of time in the classroom. Students are excited to be under the sea at JHB!
