Belgrade Central School has some hearty and marvelous young musicians. The students are learning to create music in new ways. They have braved the cold to be able to sing outdoors, learned about rhythm through doing body percussion, had fun with International Dot Day and followed motions with the composer of “The Dot Song.”

Third graders had a special video conference with John Lounsbery, a retired professional musician.Mr. Lounsbery played French horn with the Milwaukee Symphony orchestra for 35 years. After retiring from the orchestra, Mr. Lounsbery moved to California and continues to play.
Fourth-grade students are combining rhythm and pitch to play melodies on glockenspiel.
