BCS Author Visit with Tamra Wight

The students at the Belgrade Central School have had the enormous privilege of interacting and learning from an author because of the generous funding from the Stevens Fund. Our planned visit, like all other endeavors this year, was unusual and rewarding.

Our “visiting” Maine author Tamra Wight prepared for a virtual visit by tweaking her program and like always, provided our students with a presentation full of humor and constructive writing tips. Using her experience as a skilled wildlife photographer, self professed “nature geek” and a former campground owner, Tamra was a supremely relatable example of what it takes to be an exceptional writer.

Mrs. Daniels, Belgrade Central’s building librarian, and myself were flooded with praise from students and staff alike after Tamra’s visit on November 4th. All students in grade 3-5 received a signed copy of Mystery of the Bear Cub and went home happy campers.
