Kindergarteners in Mrs.Johnson’s and Mrs.Bradstreet’s class recently learned what the scientific method is. Their question was: “What is in an owl pellet?” Their hypothesis was bones and fur, but they wanted to see if that was really true. To wrap up a unit about owls, the kindergarteners did an experiment and dissected a real owl pellet. Donning gloves and using tweezers, they confirmed their hypothesis was correct and found a lot of fur and bones.
