In Mrs. Bradstreet’s Kindergarten, we have been reading different versions of the Gingerbread Man, and we realized that he always seems to get into trouble when he gets near the river.
The students’ task was to build a structure out of marshmallows and toothpicks that would enable the Gingerbread man to cross the river. It was amazing to see all of the different designs and ideas.
However, that was not the best part. Each time a student made a successful structure, all the other students stopped what they were doing and clapped and cheered for that student (which was completely unprompted). Though the designs were great, their excitement and celebration of other students’ accomplishments were what made it a truly proud moment.
