MMS Teachers Tackle National Board Certification

Messalonskee Middle School teachers Hope Herrick & Lindsay Mahoney are in the process of becoming National Board Certified Teachers. “National Board Certification was designed to develop, retain and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide. It is the most respected professional certification available in K-12 education”(National Board).

Both teachers have already passed the assessment for Component 1. The next three components will require evidence on best practices in the classroom.
