Shoutout to our fourth grade teachers at Williams Elementary who worked diligently to teach the academic standard of close reading during their literacy block while also intentionally creating a safe, loving, and welcoming learning environment for their students to thrive and grow in. This is just one of many examples in our district. These educators chose the texts Our Class is a Family and A Letter from Your Teacher to engage in deep dive lessons where students identified the main idea of the text, studied vocabulary, and made relevant connections to the texts. Our students are important and our classrooms are equipped with educators who care.
