Paper Chain Challenge

Fourth graders at the James H. Bean School participated in The Paper Chain Challenge. Each partnership was given one piece of construction paper, a pair of scissors, and a glue stick. They were challenged to create the longest paper chain using only one piece of paper. Once chains began forming, students needed to rethink their strategy in order to make their chain longer than the others. It was amazing to see the plans formulate and change. Some groups tried small rings, some tried large, skinny rings. After about 45 minutes of cutting, gluing, and persevering – the longest chain was 10 feet 4 inches long! #WeAreRSU18
