Ms. Kroemer’s, Mrs. Paytas’, and Mrs. Pullen’s second grade students from Atwood Primary have been busy learning about force and motion. They learned that there are forces all around us that impact what we do each day. After reading about each one, these little scientists put their knowledge to the test through a number of experiments. With each experiment they had to make a hypothesis and reflect on the results. They tested push and pull when they tried out their marshmallow catapults. They observed the effects of friction during the great race with cars and ramps. The culminating experiment was to attempt to defy gravity during the egg-drop challenge. Each child constructed their own contraption to hold a raw egg and tested it to see if it would survive the drop or break on impact. There were many that survived! This group has proven to be creative thinkers and problem solvers! #WeAreRSU18 #AtwoodAwesome
