Twenty-five Messalonskee Middle School students in Mrs. Ripa’s science class went through rigorous peer and board review before their “Nature Notes” were accepted and published in Findings From the Field, a middle school journal of scientific investigations organized by the Gulf of Maine Research Institute! Mrs. Ripa sent in 64 total drafts. Students wrote about vernal pool species they collected data on, and they researched their own questions about the habitat or species. Mrs. Ripa shares, “I am SO proud of all our students for their amazing scientific writing, and their willingness to revise after getting feedback!”
