Last Week Recap: CPS

There was a lot happening across the district this past week. Let’s take a look at the last week of school at China Primary School!

Power Outage: When the power at China Primary School went out, the fourth graders in Mrs. Jacobs’ class embraced the opportunity to kick start their electricity unit. Students discovered how to build a simple circuit, a series circuit, and how switches work to turn power on and off!

Frobscottle and Whizzpopping in Second Grade: Miss Preston’s second grade class enjoyed a BFG themed party to celebrate finishing the book and the end of school! They compared the movie to the book, made BFG crafts, and drank Frobscottle! Thankfully there wasn’t any Whizzpopping!

Bikes for Books: China Primary School participated in Bikes for Books, donated by the Masons. Five students in each grade were given t-shirts for the top readers. A boy and a girl won a bike in each grade – drawn from all the reading slips. Bikes for Books is a program CPS does each spring to encourage young readers to read, read, read!
