First graders at the James H. Bean School have been learning about oral health over the past few weeks. They learned about the importance of brushing their teeth twice a day, flossing, eating healthy foods, staying away from sugary foods, and the importance of seeing the dentist twice a year. Students wrapped up their unit by enjoying their monthly Mystery Reader – which was JHB’s very own Nurse Jodi! First graders listened to Doctor De Soto by William Steig. The story is about a mouse dentist who must help a fox with a toothache without being eaten. Students were then able to ask Nurse Jodi questions about the book and oral health. #WeAreRSU18 #JHBdragons
