Fifth grade students in Ms. Chamberlain’s class spent weeks reading and writing over 10 types of poetry this spring. They crafted poems about a variety of topics that were near and dear to their hearts and challenged themselves to think outside the box and try something new.
Some of their personal favorites included a concrete poem in the shape of an item that means a lot to them, a black-out poem about women’s history, and a free verse poem about what they will do “When This (COVID) is Over”.
They worked tirelessly to edit, revise, and decorate their portfolios. Great job 5th graders!
