Over the summer Principal Melanie Smith, and Maggie Solis, Dean of Students, enjoyed painting new four square courts, the basketball court, and obstacle courses. Smith, Solis, and Donnie Sheets also created and painted a chess board. Students have greatly enjoyed the freshened up playground and the new playground additions. Craig Construction also built a new Gaga Pit for students to enjoy during their recess. The Gaga Pit has been so popular that WES will be adding a second pit this fall. Aaron Parker, Williams Elementary’s new physical education teacher, has taught each classroom the Gaga Pit rules so that all students are on the same page when playing the game. The school is also finding that they have many chess players! The students are greatly enjoying the addition of the life sized chess game!
